SILICOPAINT GRAINY

Textured Exterior Paint

A silicone emulsion-based exterior coating with a textured finish, applied with a roller and textured using a coral roller.

SUITABLE AREAS FOR USAGE

  • Used as a topcoat in all exterior applications.
  • Applicable on plaster and exposed concrete surfaces.
  • Used on faded old painted surfaces.
PRODUCT SPEFICATIONS
  • It has the feature of being patterned and can be given.
  • Thanks to its spreading feature, it penetrates the surface quickly.
  • It integrates with the surface thanks to its high strength.
  • It is resistant to UV rays and does not fade.
  • It is resistant to severe climatic conditions.
  • It spreads easily on the surface thanks to its silicone additive.
  • It prevents possible micro cracks that may occur on the surface.
  • It has excellent covering ability.
  • It is easily applied by roller and spray.
  • If applied correctly, it will not cause shedding or swelling.
APPLICATION
  • If direct application is to be made to highly absorbent surfaces such as aerated concrete, the surface should be moistened abundantly (except in winter months) or primed with our transparent primers.
  • In the SILICOPAINT GRAIN application, first one or two layers of standard long-haired exterior wall roller are applied.
  • Before the last layer dries, a pattern is applied to the painted surface with a coral roller. (The coral roller is not dipped into the paint again.)
  • In this two-stage painting technique, working with two people will generally make painting faster and easier.
  • While the first person applies the paint normally with an exterior roller, the second person should apply the pattern from top to bottom with a coral roller immediately after the paint dries.
  • In applications made directly with a coral roller, the vacuum effect of the coral roller makes it difficult for the paint to adhere to the wall and reduces the square meter covered by the paint; therefore, the application is first made with a hairy exterior paint and then the pattern is given.
  • Necessary conditions must be provided to maintain the standard pattern and prevent sudden water loss of the material.
  • SILICOPAINT GRAIN is applied to the facade in two coats using a brush, roller or a single coat of spraying.
  • SILICOPAINT should not be diluted with water during its application. Two coats are recommended for the finish and the waiting time between coats is 12 hours.
  • Touch dry time is 1 to 2 hours.
  • Complete drying time is 24 hours.
  • During application, care should be taken to ensure that the ambient temperature is between +5°C and +30°C.
STORAGE, PACKAGING AND CONSUMPTION
  • It should be stacked up to 3 times in its original packaging.
  • It should be stored in a closed area.
  • Necessary precautions must be taken against water, humidity, frost and severe weather conditions.
  • It should be stored on a pallet and in a dry place between +10°C and +25°C.
  • Punctured, opened and burst buckets should be closed or used immediately.
  • If the specified storage conditions are observed, the storage life is 24 months.
  • SILICOPAINT GRAINED, offered in a 25kg bucket; consumption rate is 1.2 to 1.5 lt/m2 in a single coat, depending on the application technique and absorbency of the surface.
  • A controlled sample is recommended for exact consumption.
  • The specified rates are theoretical standards and may vary depending on the application method and intensity of use.
WARNINGS
  • Surfaces should be protected from rain and frost 12 hours before and after application.
  • Application should not be done in situations where there is a wind blow.
  • In cases where application is required above 25°C, care should be taken not to apply between 11:00 and 15:00.
  • In applications with length and continuity, care should be taken to ensure that the thinning is done at the same rate to avoid tonal differences.
  • On surfaces that have or are at risk of salt efflorescence, it is recommended to clean the surface with a damp brush and then apply a mixture of 1 part surface impregnation material and 1 part water to the surface with a brush before applying the primer.
  • It should not be brought into contact with skin, eyes and mouth, and the application should be carried out by taking the necessary work safety precautions.
  • Avoid applying at temperatures below +10°C and above +30°C, do not try to use frozen material by adding water.
